Sufi-Chi Yoga originates from Sufism rather than yoga.
Relevant aspects of both yoga and tai chi are joined for the purposes of activating energy centres within the body. Sufi-Chi Yoga emphasis upon focal concentration, breathing and meditation - physical attainment follows when the mind and heart are focused but it is not the goal.
Though Sufism, yoga and tai chi can all be traced back through history, only now have they been brought together as Sufi-Chi Yoga. This is in response to the need for this energy, together with a method of communicating that and thereby activitating awareness of energy in others.
The method of teaching Sufi-Chi Yoga is firmly rooted in Sufi philosophy, the essence of which is a focus on the Unity of Being and the love inherent in that. Like the universe itself, Sufi-Chi Yoga is dynamic and evolving and will continue to evolve according to the needs of the time. The application of
Sufi-Chi Yoga will adapt and change but its essence - Unity - will remain constant.
All students can benefit from Sufi-Chi Yoga in whatever way fits their need. Regardless of their motivation, students will usually find themselves growing and expanding their awareness far beyond their initial expectations.
